Rolls Royce Wraith 25/30
The release of the Rolls Royce Wraith was a natural progression of the small horsepower cars. With a larger capacity engine, independent front suspension and a full set of 4 D.W.S hydraulic jacks to mention a few. The Wraith even today is able to keep up with the demands of modern traffic.
This particular car chassis no WMB64 was ordered and fitted with a superbly stylish H.J Mulliner razor edge saloon with division. It has many interesting features within the body including a piper electric tilting type division, electrically operated rear blind, Motorola radio and a ‘telephone’. the high vision panel has rolvizors for those sunny days! Since 1939 WMB64 has had only 2 owners and has been with the current vendor since 1984. The vendor is a very well known writer and has produced some of the most detailed and informative literature regarding Rolls Royce over the past few years.
In 1985 WMB64 was sent to specialists Fiennes engineering and the front suspension was completely overhauled. Between 1990 and 1994 the engine was also completely overhauled by Fiennes and finished by David Haines. At the same time the chassis was completely re wired all the way back to the dashboard. The body wiring as of yet has not been touched and is not connected. In 2003 the rear suspension was overhauled and 3 leaves replaced. At the same time all the silent block bushes were renewed. In 2009 WMB64 was treated to a set of new old stock Dunlop tyres and had the front exhaust down pipe repaired with a genuine Rolls part.
All in all WMB64 is a very complete and largely original car and is available for sale with all tools, handbook, original handbook and original mascot. There are various original parts to go with the car including the jacking system, spare wheel cover and under trays amongst other items which were removed with the intention of overhauling and re - fitting. There are a quantity of new old stock spares and parts to go with WMB64.
However WMB64 is now starting to show signs of age and the bodywork is starting to de - generate with the majority of it around the rear wheel arches and wings. The High vision system and sunroof both leak and will require attention. Currently WMB64 has only been used on fair weather days to prevent the ingress of water. The Paintwork and upholstery although complete are both in need of work in the short term. Particularly the upholstery as it is torn in places. Mechanically WMB64 is in very good condition and drives very well indeed. The front vibration damper will require attention (new Material) as it vibrates slightly at 55mph. WMB64 also comes with 2 large fitted delightful pigskin cases in the trunk and also has a large, detailed and interesting history folder
